When LEGO revealed the Technic Bugatti Chiron 42083 in 2018, it changed what fans expected from a Technic car. At 3,599 pieces and roughly 56 cm long, it was the first model in the 1:8 "Ultimate" supercar line that later included the Lamborghini Sián and Ferrari Daytona SP3.
Key features
- W16 engine with 16 moving pistons, visible through the rear.
- 8-speed gearbox operated by paddle shifters behind the steering wheel.
- Speed key: turning it in the rear raises the spoiler into top-speed mode, just like the real car.
- Working steering and independent suspension.
- Each box contains a unique serial number inside the model.
The building experience
The build is split into numbered bags and goes from the chassis and gearbox outwards. Most builders spend 12 to 15 hours on it. The gearbox section is the most demanding: test it before closing the chassis, because a misplaced gear is hard to fix later.
Display tips
The Chiron's two-tone blue looks best at eye level with the rear visible, so the engine and spoiler stay on show. Keep it out of direct sunlight to protect the blue panels from fading.
Buying a pre-owned Chiron
The Chiron is retired, so pre-owned copies are now the main way to get one. Check that the listing mentions the gearbox and the steering, and that the instructions and the speed key are included. Our listings state the condition (Like New, Imperfect Box or Used) and what's in the box. If you prefer a smaller Bugatti, the Bugatti Bolide 42151 offers a quicker build with the same styling.
