The Imperial Star Destroyer 75252 (2019, 4,784 pieces) is the second UCS Star Destroyer and one of the most impressive display models LEGO has made. Built, it measures more than 1.1 metres long.
Design highlights
- Highly detailed surface ("greebling") across the hull.
- A tiny Tantive IV to recreate the opening scene of A New Hope.
- Small control room with Darth Vader and an Imperial officer.
Building it
The internal Technic frame is sturdy and the hull plates attach at angles. The build is repetitive but very satisfying when the wedge shape comes together.
Display ideas
Because of its size, a long shelf or a wall mount works best. Lighting from above brings out the hull texture.
Other Star Destroyers
The First Order Star Destroyer 75190 offers a sequel-trilogy take at a much smaller size.
